Born in Salisbury, Wiltshire, 1950. Learned piano as a child and played guitar since the age of 14. Began playing in bands in the 70s. Works as a luthier, guitar technician and guitar teacher at the ‘Dream Guitar Services’ workshop. Has built and serviced guitars for Queen and other name bands and toured as a guitar-technician.
Prime musical inspiration: Jimi Hendrix. Consulted by Monika Danneman on the care and planned public exhibition of Jimi’s black Stratocaster. Contributed to Monika’s book “The Inner World of Jimi Hendrix (1996), after which he was approached by a Hollywood actor enquiring to purchase Jimi’s guitar from the Danneman family and also by the Hendrix Estate concerning its whereabouts. He hasn’t got it!
Equipment: 1968 Fender Stratocaster (no surprises there!), 1955 Gibson Les Paul Junior and occasionally a 1962 Gibson SG Junior, through a 1978 Marshall JCM 800 and highly customised pedal-board. Loves playing with Midnight Blue: -- band-chemistry, musical highs and being ‘part of a family’.
