The band formed sometime in October or November 1998. Rehearsals continued either side of Christmas ready for the debut gig at a party on March 21st in a house called ‘Redhouse’ in the village of Lubenham just outside Market Harborough. Maybe one day we’ll get a plaque fixed on the wall there! The first public gig was on May 8th at The Shoulder of Mutton, Foxton.

As already mentioned, we have used 5 drummers, 5 keyboard players, 5 guitarists, 1 bassist and 1 lead singer. We have had a guest harmonica player several times (who also played ‘dep’ keys twice) and a guest electric fiddle player a couple of times - a total of 19 different personnel. We have played over 230 gigs at around 80 different venues in over 40 different towns & villages.

Pipes & The Teacher are original/founder members who debuted on Mar 21st 1999, whilst Prof debuted on Sep 28th 2001. Skins first played a year later - on Sep 21st 2002 - and new boy, The Preacher, made his first appearance on Apr 13th 2007.

It’s difficult to say how many different songs we have performed, but we have included only three originals, though this may change a little bit if our studio session in October goes well! We think we have played ‘Hey Joe’ about 210 times now!!!
